Vacuum?
I have a 99 SD 4x4, 7.3 liter. I have discovered recently that my blower selector for the fan is not changing when I turn the ****. I am by no means a mechanic. I do understand this control is powered by vacuum.
I opened the hood and stood back and appreciated that big engine first. Then I tracked down what appeared to be the vacuum tack behind the passenger side battery.
I disconnected a vacuum line and as I did with my old 351 cleveland, proceeded to put my finger over both sides to see if there was any suction,---not---. Then I realized that the line I was checking ran to the front axle, must be what the **** to control the 4x4 on dash has something to do with, duh!
QUESTION. Without a manual, Where the heck is the pump, which fuse powers it, and where can I find the fuse. I found a box in front of driver in corner of engine compartment, is the fuse there, and which one?
This is the first time I am trying to work on this truck myself. I am sick of getting overcharged at the dealer and I am willing to be patient to do it myself.
Thanks Joey in Portland TN
