I like the one that runs up/down the pillar...what brand and/or type should I get and what specific gauges do I need and where is the best/cheapest place to order them (on-line)? The truck is a 2000 F250 7.3 AT 4WD K&N, Flowmaster, Superchip (Gold), 38" Tires.
At the least get a Pyro, then I would say boost, and tranny. Most places have Autometer or Di/Prical or ISSPro. Check out http://www.dieselmanor.com (you will have to cut and paste link) thats were I'm getting ready to order them from today. They set you up with a kit has all the wiring and connectors and will paint to match if you want.
Ok.....it is refered to as an A-pillar Pod. Is available on Ebay....or if you just do a search on Autometer....you will find pods at several places. The common gauges selected is Pyrometer first, Boost second, and (if your going to tow)...Transmission Temp. third. The Pyrometer is the most important if your going to install a chip or use a programmer. You will want to buy the kit that includes the thermister and related mounting hardware. It is also the most expensive of the three. I think I payed about $110 for my Autometer brand. The others were $40 -$50 each. My three gauge pod ran about $35. Hope this helps.
I'm looking at the setup ya'll are talking about.
Lookin' at the set of three with pod.
Too many choices, I'm soooo confused.
Drill & tap or SS clamps?
30 or 60 lb. boost?
They want 30 bucks to paint the pod?
I was hoping they came standard in the stock gray or tan.
i'm no expert, but i can tell you... i wouldn't bother with a 60lb boost guage. Even if you could make that much boost, i don't know if the turbo or the motor would take it. I may be wrong here but i don't think so.
My best advice is do some research on the posts on this site... the folks here are awesome... and there is soooo much info...!
also, i have seen the pod in a standard grey, it's not a perfect match, but close enough...
