Transmission Pressure gauge question

I'm going to check the TV cable setting on my AOD, using the pressure gauge method. Can I use any hydraulic pressure gauge or does it need to be a "transmission" pressure gauge. We have extra gauges here at work which is alot cheaper than the specialty tools places.

Thanks
Brian

Any pressure gauge thats accurate in the 25-50lbs area is good. I use a normal oil pressure master gauge that reads from 0-250lbs. In some applications there is not much room to get to the port on the transmission so some sort of angle adapter is needed.

OK, thanks. did you need to provide a way to get air out of the line to the gauge?

A little air in the line should make no difference.
