intermittent problem with 300

I had the same truck years ago. I only have some suggestions that may be the cause of your prob. It first sounds to me that your cat-converter is starting to break up internally thus partially blocking the exhaust flow. Sometimes the broken pieces will block off the back of the cat, and sometimes they will not. I had this happen on my 86' f-150 and also my 92' f-250.
Second possibility could be the large vacuum line that goes to the break booster. This line was resting on the intake manifold and after time wore a hole in the underside of the line. I never noticed this because of the way the line was resting on the manifold. I had this happen on my 86' f-150 and also another 86' f-150 w/ automatic trans. I am not positive if these suggestions will help but at least it is a start. Good luck.

I will check the vacuum line, thanks for the suggestions.
