Fuse box problem?
No power windows, no automatic sliding rear window, illumination of the power controls on the door is out (door locks and power mirrors still work), and the audio system malfunctions (radio powers on but on/off button and most others do not work, clock can be set and keeps time, but clock goes out shortly after startup, comes back on when headlights are on).
Through the examination of the wiring diagram, I have since come to the conclusion that the Accessory Delay Relay circuit is at fault, as it supplies power to power windows, sliding rear window, door control switch illumination, and some power to the radio.
I checked the fuses and circuit breakers associated with the radio and accessory dela relay and all looked intact. Replaced them all anyway. No help. I then replaced the ADR. Again, no help.
I broke out the trusty voltometer and have found the following: no power at the window control switches, no power at the suspect wire at the radio, no power going through the harness to the rear window. I then tested the ADR socket in the fuse box. It has power (12.8V). Finally, I tested the sockets for the three fuses associated with the radio. Two have power, but the 15A fuse from the ADR is dead. I then tested the 30A circuit breaker for the power windows supplied by the ADR, and again, no power.
Does one have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure this one out? Or have I got it? I think that I have a problem in the fuse box between the ADR and its associated fuses.
So, before I go out and buy a new fuse box, does anyone have any other ideas? I did remove the fuse panel and as soon as I saw circuit boards I gave up. Are these repairable?
Thanks for any advice or constructive(destructive) criticism.
Replaced it and am now 100% fixed.
