ac blower selector

Any suggestions appreciated. My blower selector is not working. It seems be be stuck when I switch selections, nothing, stays in the defrost vent/floor vent, this is where I like to keep it in the winter. Now with it getting warm out I discovered this problem. When I switch to AC, I just get cold air through defrost/floor vents. I don't know if this is related, before the AC was running all the time anyway, I just adjusted the temp control for hot or cold air.

Thanks guys,

you got a vaccum leak somewhere.

what year truck?

superduties have an electric vac pump. they can go bad, need a vaccum gauge to see how much its producing.

OBS trucks have a mechanical vac pump cause they still have vac boost brakes. if you have a OBS truck if its the vac pump then your brakes would be alot harder cause your not getting the vac boost. check all your vac lines with the vac pump. there arnt that many on theese trucks so tracking it down goes pretty quick.

i bet the vac pump has died on your truck. follow the vac lines from the hvac gear back to the pump. when your truck is running you can pull the line off and feel if your getting vac off it. best bet is to grab a vac pump gauge and see exactly how much it is. do you have auto hubs? if 4x4? makes it a little easier being a SD cause theres less vac stuff on it

lucky for me then, it is a 4x4. I just got home from work. I'll give it a few minutes and go see if I can come to any conclusions. I don't have a vac gauge, if I have to I will get one. I will look around in there first to see if I can figure the system out first.

Thanks Joey

You might find some help by reading the "vaccuum leak ?? " thread. I just answered the same type question there.
