460 ALL THE WAY, I have driven both 351M/400, THE 460 trucks are twice as fast in stock appearance meaning motors. I have a 351M 77 F150, I would get out run by my cousin in a 1980 300/3spd on the column truck, with the same 2.75 gear ratio. I'm still using a 79 F-250 Lariat/460/c-6 and a 78 F-150 Lariat/460/c-6 155,000 miles original and still counting.

My 2 cents/ 460's are hard to beat for performance and reliabilty.

I will just reiterate what I have found and others in the 335 forum. An investment in a 400 that would be less aggrevation than the swap and less money will give you an amazingly fun and powerful truck. If you never had a 400 that you did the right work to you just would'nt know. Check out the 335 forum. If you want to get fancy with a 400 you can look at Danlee's rig but there are many other's that run great as well. I all out is what you wanted then you would stroke the 460 and make a real monster. There is no substitute for cubic inches they like to say, but regardless of that it takes more fuel to fill more cubes period. If you want to compare one vehicle against another then you have to compare who is tuning it etc.

how about a real stump puller if you want to spend some $, 428, nothing better. Now a 400 would probably treat your pocket book a little better.
