i have a 1991 f-150 ext cab with the inline 6 and 5 sp trans but my computer has gone bad and the one in the truck has no markings as to the part number and i called the local parts house and they have 5 differant listings for that truck..any ideas what to do without having to keep buying them till i get the right one because the parts store said no returns on electrical items and it could get real expensive..thanx for any idesa and help tim
There should be a big sticker on the connector block of the computer.
According to fordfuelinjection.com, theres only 2 computers for the 4.9L I6 Manual trans and thats the DOT1 or the PQP2. See for yourself at http://fordfuelinjection.com/index.php?p=17 Its a great site and you can see where the sticker should be too.
I Just want to make sure that we are talking about the computer behind the driverside kickpanel (to the left of your left foot) and not the ignition module under the hood.
Also post what you've done to diagnose your computer. Are you sure it just isn't a bad/corroded wire or ground connection which is quite common...
