Question Drivers window

Driver side power window will freeze up occasionally. Some times it comes back on its own or sometimes I just fiddle with everything until it works. Took panels off door and whacked motor to get it to work Monday and then today it stopped and came back on its own. This will only happen when the window is in the down position.
I am assuming that it is the motor but... could it just be the switch? When the window is stuck (down) I push the button and I can hear the relay clicking so I feel it is getting power and the passenger side will work fine. If it is the motor going bad how in the heck do you get it out???? It seems like it would be easier to change the whole door out and paint it. I am sure it is not as hard as it looks but it seems pretty intimidating.

Thanks

Honestly the job is a whole day thing, ive done two of them on older trucks and it trakes about 3 hours. The problem is the small space you have to work in, you have to un mount the old motor (most likely held in with rivits) then youo have to wiggle out the whole assembly. Also make up a 2X4 to hold up the window while you are removing the motor.

Sorry if its a lil confusing, but i hope it helps
