If someone could offer an inkling of a suggestion here it would be better than what I have now. I have squeek or chirping sound that appears to be coming from the rear end when the bronco is in forward or reverse and only while moving slow. If you place the truck in nuetral (still moving) the sounds go away. I am guessing that when the driveline is under pressure something is causing the squeek. The U-joints are good and the rear end is not leaking and the fluid is good. It is an '85 bronco with 65k miles. If anyone has been able to track down this annoying phantom noise, please offer any info you might have.

I had a similar problem in my 90 F-150. Sometimes while driving slow (1st or rev) I'd hear a squeeking coming from the rear, but the U-Joints seems fine. So I jacked both rear wheels off the ground (chocked both front tires just because) and put it in first and let the clutch out. With the driveline turning (and wheels too, so be careful) I had a friend apply the brakes while giving it gas. This caused the rear brakes the grab, therefore torquing the read drivetrain. And like that, I head the squeek. It happened to be the front u-joint. So I replaced both of them with Spicer's. I dont like cheap discount auto parts.

Check the rear joint with the drive line removed, you may find that it is binding or dry.
