adding to lift?

I leveled out my truck with a 3" shackle/hanger kit and recently put 35"s on it. They rub on the drivers side on a hard left turn and I really would like to not cut the liner to avoid this. I was thinking of adding add a leafs to raise it a bit. Any other recommendations? Also would I need a new pitman arm, I already put an adjustable trac bar bracket and am in the process of getting longer sway bar links?

thanks

You could add Donahoe's 2" mini spring pack to your hanger kit along with a larger block for the rear. I currently have the Donahoe 4.5" hanger kit along with the 2" mini spring pack for a total of 6.5" and a Donahoe 6" rear block. I clear my 35's easily and could definitely clear 37's without a problem. You could always just re-locate the liner back about an inch and see if that works for you also.

I was wondering if you could do that too, add ad-a-leaves to a hanger/shackle lift. The spring pack would be nice, but the cost on top of the other lift, ect.

You could get the front 2" mini spring pack, 6" rear block and 1" rear Deaver add-a-leafs for about $400.

35's on a stock wheel will always rub the leaf. nothing you can do about it, other than swap wheels. a 35 witha 3" lift is not even close to enough, i have 6" and 35's, and rub all the time off road. turn the raido up, that is my solution, working out great thus far!

good luck!

35's don't rub at all on my stock rims, not at full turn or anything, I have stock rims and a tough country 2.2" leveling kit with F-350 rear blocks, see gallery for pics

hmmmm, your the only one.

must have them 3" backspace 7" wheels from the factory

or, maybe nobody else is brave enough to even attempt a 35" tire with a 2.5" lift!
hell, my 295's (33's) rubbed with no lift on the stock wheels..... the tire has to hit the leaf, at full lock, in either direction......... mine hits the leaf in front of the tire, and behind the tire, on both sides.

YMMV

My 315/75's rub on the springs. THEY ALL DO! Stocks wheels just don't have the backspacing to get away from rubbing the springs. And the flip side of it is when you stick them out further with a different offset you end up with rubbing on the inner fenders.

That being said, I have the Rubicon Express drop brackets, drop trackbar, STOCK (yeah I said stock) pitman arm, sway bar links, and Skyjacker add a leaf's up front. My stock pitman arm put the drag link more in line with the trac bar than the drop one It drives better now with the stock one and has less bumpsteer than the drop pitman arm had. Figure that one out!

looks nice!

strange on the pitman.......... my pitman arm was nearly flat, and would have been at a crazy angle! my pitman is 6" dropped! makes the stocker look like i said, flat.......

i also have stock brake lines, vacuum lines, sway bar links, trac bar..... and 6" leafs.

anyhoo, glad to hear reinforcement, rather than 40 posts about how their 35's dont rub!

rofl!

Mine are not rubbing the spring, only the drivers side inner wheel well lining(plastic). This occurs @ full turn off or onroad.

I have no reason to lie to a bunch of strangers about my tires rubbing or not. Maybe we have different configurations. I have the camper package and heavy service front springs on my truck, maybe it sits higher, maybe my 315's are a different diameter than yours by a minute amount, they do vary by manufacturer. Who knows, who cares? All I know is that my tires don't rub, so whatever.

Had a guy yesterday tell me that adding the add a leafs was a disaster waiting to happen. why? I thought he was confused with blocks but he swore I was in for trouble.

Still considering doing this...has anyone else?

hey, i hear ya man.......... but i dont care how heavy duty, snow plow packaged, and camper specialed your truck is, your springs are still not lifting the truck 6"........ mine do......actually, 6.5 to be anally exact about it

anyway, not that it matters........i turn till they rub, and dont care a bit about it.
