Offroading on LI

Does anyone from Long Island know a good place to go off roading? I've had my 98 Expy for a little over a year and I just wanted to have a little fun with it, nothing too extreme. I just wanna get my feet wet so to speak. I'm gonna get a fishing permit so I can take on the beach. I'm wondering if there are some trails somewhere I can try out. I'm in Nassau Co.

Out in Suffolk there is a "fire Road" off route 111 in Manorville on the east side of the road just about opposite Hot Water Street, it goeas a couple of miles easily and comes out at the intersection of rt 24 and the LIE in Riverhead. Actually looking at the site it is marked as Hot Water Street and you turn left on toppings path and continue till you hit a paved road which is 24. Pretty tame but a nice little ride.
