I have an 2002 F150 ext cab and i bought a visonik system that came with 2 10' in a bandpass box with a 2 channel amp from visonik i was wondering if my alternator will handle this i also have a capacitor.
what i like to do is run a second battery. doesnt hurt the car, alows you to draw more current, and doesnt stress the alternator. i like to do that even if im not running a system. its just helpful.
you run the battery in parallel with the existing one. so it would be (+)to(+) and (-) to (-).
bandpass boxes are more for volume then they are quality of sound. depends of what your looking for. me, i like a nice sealed box and some 12's. in my truck im mounted 1 10" rockford and amp in a sealed box. i listen to rock, so that setup is ideal.
headunits play a big part in bringing out the best in your speakers. a great set of speakers paired with a great headunit will make a world of difference. pioneer has some pretty nice preamps with great eq settings. but alpine is the best hands down (in my opinion.) i also found blaupunkt to make a very nice headunit. i had that one in my audi with some infinity kappa perfect's front back and two 12's. sounded great.
Your electrical system will handle that amp no problem. Remember, music is very dynamic and full of peaks and valleys that are extremely short in duration. The load that amp presents your elec. system isn't anything at all to worry about.
I've heard some visonik 12"s in a bandpass box and they were unreal. The guy had a huge amp on them for sound off comps. so they didn't last very long. How are you gonna fit that box in the truck? Are you removing the rear seats?
