Burning distributor wire

I have a 1990 f150 with a straight six that starts up fine and runs for awhile, but then it burn the wire going from the coil to the distributor. If you replace it, it will start up fine and run for awhile then do it again. Whats causing this?

I would say the coil, but it may need a tune-up!

Too much current, too little resistance, don't know where. Check with an ohmmeter.
