How did you get your cab off the frame?

I also built a rolling hoist from some scrap 4" square steel with an upper crossmember approx. 2' higher than the cab, then mounted a boat winch on each upright. I used the wide nylon webbing on each winch and routed it up and through brackets at the top. It made lifting the cab a one man operation, also strongh enough with a small 1/2 ton hoist, to lift the engine and tranny.

After removing the doors and disconnecting anything on my 53 F-100 that gave the cab weight, I threw a 3/4" rope over an old beam in the barn and pulled. I didn't use (or need to use) pullies. When I got it off the frame, I rolled the frame away and brought it down. (I had removed the 215 motor from the frame the same way, so clearance wasn't an issue...I only had to lift it about 18 inches). To move it around from place to place, I needed a helper to lift and carry it. To put it back on the frame for a test fit after repairs , I needed three other helpers.

The 3 buddies and 12 pack does work well, but four buddies means you can "supervise" and not break a sweat too, while telling them to be careful.
I got mine off that way, and mounted it on 4 6x6 blocks braced with 2x4's from my scrap wood pile. Also drilled holes on the bottom of the blocks and stuck some cheap caster wheels in from Lowes, so I can roll it around now too.
