While they would seem a good idea for a lifted truck, they tend to be counterproductive to suspension travel. I have never personally used them but I would love to be able to do THIS someday! AUTOFAB guys have combined the best of both the traction bar and articulation ideas.
I rode in a Ranger that installed trailing arms. I found it too stiff and limit the droop on the travel going offroading. I would think you would want a trailing arm for street use. I notice one on my buddies 1968 Chevelle SS. I think it soaks up the hard torque from one wheel to the other and keeps the wheels to the ground.
Traction bars are a good idea for a truck whise rear end has been lifted with blocks more than 2"s high. They do limit articulation, making rock crawling, or anything that involved alot of travel impossible. But if it was mainly for the trail, or the mud bogs, they would be fine.
I know this thread is old, but I have Autofab leaves and 2-link kit on my Bronco and I love it. The travel is smooth and hasn't stiffened the ride at all.
