Supercharged 6.8L V-10, 512 HP, 640 ft-lbs http://www.gearfx.com/temp/detnews/B...?truckblog.com
I like this part:
"This powerplant, also slated for use in the next generation Lightning, is more than adequate for propelling Ford's largest and heaviest weapon."
Why? That would be an awesome powerplant in the Lightning, but why burden it with a 7,000 pound Super Duty chassis? SVT is supposed to be about total performance, and I don't see this thing fulfilling the SVT requirements. Personally, I hope this is just a test bed for the new Lightning powerplant.
In a F350 platform. Is ford on drugs? That weight is going to kill it. Since when has the Superduty been great at road manors not to mention handeling and superduty remind me of government and worker. Can you say oximoron?
It's almost like an article form The Onion. I can't believe ford would actually name a vehicle "Tsunami" after recent events.
I don't understand why they would go through all this while the Diesel's are getting so much HP hype and a lot better mileage. This looks like a waste of Ford resources to me. They need to be developing a ~3.0 liter diesel to put in the 1/2 tons, Rangers and SUVs that will get 25+ mpg. This is almost Dodge silly.
This truck was an APRIL FOOLS JOKE ... the guy who did it runs the gear fx website and if you look around on there he is pretty big onto computers so it wouldnt be much of a stretch for him to photochop that tease of a truck.
Yeah, it is a definite april fool's joke. Ford would not risk international embarassment by naming something after an event that just killed 300,000 people.
Good point.
I was thinking it would be nice though if the Harley Davidson trucks had a little extra hp...
Just bump up the boost on the 6.4 a little over the regular engine, and advance the timing on the V10 so that it runs best on premium, but still runs on regular as well without pinging.
And drop the 5.4l on that spec as well.
