I personally wouldn't go that low with a truck. You can use a set of 93-95 lightning front springs, and a set of rear shackles to bring it down some. Plus it won't run you almost $400.00 to do it. The lightnings had 17 inch wheels on them from the factory. Is this the look you're going for?

Also, I have seen a couple of F-150's around my area that have been lowered that low. They can't even go over speed bumps!

Take a ruler and put it up to the center of your wheel well opening, measure 5 inches down in the front and look at where that will bring your fender! the wheel well opening should be right at the top of your tires. I know mine was when I measured it for this modification. And mine has the 235/75/15 tires on it.

Basically what I'm saying is, I don't think these trucks look right lowered that far. Now what somebody did to mine I have no clue, because mine sits lower all the way around than any other 87-96 F-150. Why I have no clue, but it does. Check into the lightning spring thing, It's a whole lot more cost effective, and second You're using Ford Parts!

I have looked into the f150 lighning springs and they will only lower my truck 1 inch in the front

I am just goin to go with a 3 inch I beam and a 5 inch flip kit as my truck has quite a rake to it right now and Id like to level it out , I am also haveing a great deal of truoble finding rims that will fit my truck as I really want a set of american racing tourque thrust 2's but they dont make em in the ford 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern , If anybody knows of another rim that is very simular to the tourque thrust ,and avalible in a 17 inch , let me know .

also I am looking for anyone with pics of lowered 80-81 f150s as I have only seen lowered newer model trucks and want to see how sweet mine will look after I lower it

LAST EDITED ON 26-Nov-00 AT 07:56 PM (EST)[p]I have noticed my truck sits lower than most other 87-96 F-150's. I can't figure it out, it has stock v-8 front springs, and stock 2 wheel drive rear springs (4 leaf), and I still can't figure it out. From what I can tell it sits a full 3 inches lower all the way around. And I haven't changed anything. Unless somebody before me did something to it. But everything under the truck is bone stock. Even my wheels & tires are stock heighth.
