Experiences with the TrueFlow intake

I've been reading about the TrueFlow intake in comparison with the AirRaid, K&N, AEM, and Volant cone filter systems. Does True Flow perform just as well as an open cone air filter element, or is it all marketing? Furthermore, are all the cone filter systems identical in performance, or are some better than others? I know questions like these have been asked, but I was hoping for some clearer answers than just "which air intake is your favorite." Thanks for the help guys.

Bdyzr1, could you give me some impressions of how much of an improvement the True Flow intake is over stock? Difference in throttle response? MPGs before/after? Thanks for your help!

After I installed it I took it for a test drive, i finally could lay some rubber to the asphault, and i have 37 13.50 20 mts on my truck, throttle response was amazing, mpg's i really cant tell you because after my test drive i installed superchips programming, before both those installs, 9.6 mpg to 13.1 mpg

Sounds pretty sweet. Where did you get the system, and how much did it cost, if you don't mind my asking. The reason I'm asking all these questions is that I'm debating between an AEM Brute Force (cone filter and intake tube), the True Flow (stock airbox, high flow filter, intake tube), or the Airaid MIT (intake tube). I'm attempting to figure out if the other parts make a huge difference, or if the tube is where the major performance gain is made over stock. Thanks for your response!

Question Volant Experience

I purchased a Volant Air Intake and Ram Air Scoop. When I received the package I was shorted all hardware. Finally after many calls and emails they sent me about 75% of items needed.I ended up buying the clamps etc. myself at the local hardware.I never got a warranty registration form or a diagram/instruction sheet.Anyway, air intake install was simple enough. However, the two piece ram air scoop will not align between the air intake and the scoop in the tow hook area. There is only one guy at Volant able to help people and he is out most of the time and will not return my calls. The lady that answered the phone today hung up on me and when I called back and asked her to have this guy call me she said he will be gone for hours and then to lunch?I would love to send it back but I know I will never get my money back because of ordering as a package deal from a dealer on ebay and having shipped direct from factory. The air intake seems to be fine.I especially like the sound when getting into throttle.I know my gas mileage will not improve until the new wears off and my right foot lightens up.Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with Ram Air Scoop?I know I can use a hose to replace one section to make it work, but what about the $129 I spent for it?All suggestions will be appreciated! Thanks

Just to make sure I understand the True Flow intake - the kit comes with a foam air filter and the replacement intake pipe. The kit costs 230 bucks. Technically I could just run an Airraid MIT for 100 bucks and get the same effects. Is my reasoning correct?
