Suburban Truisms -

You can spend all weekend painting a house, and you know that in about two years or so it's going to start peeling, cracking, fading, and falling off.
BUT! Spill any of that same brand of paint on Mommas front sidewalk - and that stuff will be in there forever.

Gophers in a yard never go away - they take periodic vactions to get away from the stress of dealing with the irate home owner.

You can spend all the money on bug sprays and foggers that you want. But if roaches and other bugs do not have a ready food supply and a source of water available - they go somewhere else to find it. This works well except in apartments and townhomes - you can always tell when a neighbor blows seventy five bucks on foggers, because the migration will run through everyone elses home...

In general, the phrase: "Modern Labor Saving Efficient Appliance" is a concatenated oxy-moron. Furthermore - "Underwriters Laboratories" has nothing to do with insuring them that I could ever discover!

If you buy the latest and greatest of anything - it just means that you get to be the one who tells all the rest of us what kind of problems to expect from it...
