I'd like the Lariat package a lot more if you didn't have to get the plastic simulated wood grain. I can't stand the look of that.
The V10 I test drove yesterday had the black leather seats. They were definitely comfortable and real nice looking, but I think they belong in a Caddy or another luxury car.

Amen to that. Another reason for the XLT, I didn't like the wood grain or the white face guages.

I have the XLT Sport package. Mine is dark shadow grey with black leather seats and black carpet. I love it. Instead of wood grain, the XLT Sport package came with carbon fiber. I really like the way it looks. It is a unique truck on the road. The only thing that I wish I had was the outside temp. guage. I toyed with the idea of adding the aftermarket mirror with the compass, temp, and auto dimming. But $250 bucks. NOT!

I use my truck for work and pleasure (see gallery)..........Covercraft seat covers come off on weekends in about 1 minute........husky floor liners keep all the mud out and when you take them out the carpet doesn't even need to be vacuumed. The leather cleans up so easy and looks new all the time.........We bought out town car with cloth because we thought the kids would ruin the leather ..........We were wrong........cloth looks like **** now and it will not come clean. Lariat's rule (but that wood grain??????????????)

I'm happy with my Xl trim truck. for me, all of the XLT stuff is a waste of $$$. I would have replaced the stereo, which I did, I still would have replaced the tires and wheels, so I don't car that I got the stock steelies.

No thank you! I had a 2000 F-250 Lariat w/ tan leather. I sold it w/ 50k on the speedo and the leather was just starting to show wear. About a month ago I ran into the kid that bought my old truck and now has 70k on it.I took a look on the inside and the seats are just hammered. I am happy with my cloth seats.

No envy, no worry, no headaches...
The lariats are nice but I don't want to be concerned with keeping it nice.
I ordered an XL with some upgrades (40/20/40 seats and 4 speaker stereo). When I'm out working on the farm or wrenching and need to run into town for a part no problem. Grease, grime, dust and mud wash or wipe right out. But I'm still a little particular about cow poop on my boots. And I eliminated one potential headache that has bugged me several times...the motor under the hood outlasts the motor in electric windows. My crank works every time.

I don't suffer from Larait envy, but do suffer from a crew cab envy. I couldn't handle a XL, a well loaded XLT or LAriat is good though, I hate the fact that the seats don't hold up in the Lariat though....

I have an outside temp gauge that I added. It was something like $20 and they're available almost anywhere. Easy install and it runs on batteries that I've changed once in about 2 yrs. The hardest part about the install was running the wire from the cab to under the front bumper which obviously wasn't hard at all.

Nope, I'm an XL guy - always have been, always will be. No carpet, 5-speed, cloth and no power anything. Tows and works just like a Lariat. Just gimme AC and a radio and I'm ready to go. The XL is what a truck is supposed to be without all the BS and the best bang for the buck.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person that doesn't like all of that fancy stuff. I don't realy like cloth seats either, I prefer vinal. My last truck had cloth seats and power windows/locks and my dog kept the seats nasty, rolled down the windows, and locked me out a few times. Now I can just wipe the seats off and not have to worry about him locking me out.

thorseshoeing,

With the keypad remote locks, you don't have to worry about getting locked out

You can also open the moonroof for a vent for Fido and shouldn't worry about him overheating or getting out.
