Hi, the 5.0 is a standard 302 engine the 5.0 H.O. is a true roller engine roller cam roller rockers higher lift cam a world of difference the H.O. engine came in mustangs,mark 8's, and very few other cars the horsepower difference is about 50 h.p.in the same year engine. John Sugden (fatforty)

heads are a little diffrent all so bigger valves and such

Hi, the taurus sho is a 6 cyl. engine not even the same type of bird. the 5.0HO is a beast of it's ownthe last year they put them in the mustang cobra they were rated at something like 295hp
they wind up really fast because of the roller cam and rockers they build the power with the difference between standard and roller different injection Ihave a superchip and dynomax exhaust on my 95 and it will run 13.88 @ 101 in the quarter they really fly. John Sugden (FATFORTY)

it went from pretty much a truck block to a big performer
