Talking Upgrade advice?

Well, I finally got the cash stashed, so I'm looking to do my upgrades and put the Predator I bought at Christmas to use. I'm looking at a few things & would appreciate any words of wisdom, advice, or warnings. I have read just about every posting on these items and I'm trying to make a fair balance between quality & cost.

MBRP Aluminized Exhaust - 4" turbo back... I've not read anything bad about this unit & I live down in the Dallas area so I'm not terribly worried about corroding the muffler out... any gotcha's on this?

Tymar Intake - 'nuff said

Gauges - this is the killer for me. I like the XMonitor, but I've not seen any posting's about it vs. analog gauges... any thoughts that?

Other than that, I should order today or tomorrow. I appreciate any feedback. Wish me luck.

Larry

You'll be surprised!
I got all the stuff you are about to install already. Yesterday my wife and I took a trip out of town and was cruising at 80mph with no boost. But as soon as I floored it, the boost started to climb/turbo spooling and before I knew it was up to 95mph and backed off. Only got it up to 15psi! I can't imagine what the top speed will be if I just let it go to the max. Also left a cloud of exhaust smoke in my wake. It didn't matter if I was going up a grade of not. It just takes flat takes off. I had a 6.0 PSD following me, but he couldn't keep up above 85mph. This is with the Predator on 100hp. Before the Predator, I couldn't go faster than 85mph. Also my X was steady as a rock. No vibrations and tracked straight as an arrow!

Leo,

Thanks for the note, I am so looking forward to the event. Question on the gauges, you've got Pyro, Trans Temp, and Boost right? Where did you put the pyro, post or pre turbo. I've heard arguments both ways & leaning toward pre-turbo.

Hi Larry,
I have the Banks exhaust. It already had a bunge in the downpipe for the pyro so that's where it went after the turbo. Preturbo is accurate way to do it.
My trans temp guage is factory indash since I have a 2002, and that never moves.
Good luck!

I'm running the XMonitor and love it. I got to keep my grab handle and painted the unit to match my interior and it looks factory. Some people don't like the digital readout and prefer the analog needles. I have no problems w/ the digitals.
