Aod Calling Again

Hello again,
You guys are the best! Every time i ask a question you jump on it and give me excellent precise info that gives me perfect guidence. Thank you very much for that. Here is my newest quandary... I rebuilt my 1986 Bronco's (full size with a 5.0 E.F.I. 4X4) aod transmission last week. It had fried the direct clutch pack. I replaced the complete pack and also while it was apart i replaced the planatarys all the friction disks and a complete valve body and all the seals and gaskets and even the lip seals. I put it all back in and due to a flip flop and reverse accident i put the tv cable linkage arm on backwards. i then adjusted the tv cable properly at the engine end. I started it and filled it the rest of the way and then tried it out. Wow bad news. wouldnt shiftinto 3rd or 4th and reverse was slipping horribly. I then found the tv cable linkage mistake and fixed it but no difference. Then i posted and was told i probably fried it again. Ok my bad my punishment. I pulled the trans and opened her up. When i was taking it apart as i took off the valve body and as i cleared it the low-reverse servo selective piston cover shot off and also the piston with it. I obviously had not seated the snapring properly. I then completely took the rest of the trans apart. Only to discover a perfectly perfect direct clutch pack. Un damaged in any way. my ? is would the servo cover cause the problem?
please give me your opinion. thanks.
