Engine Swap

Can anyone tell me if the engine blocks on a 289, 302 and 351 are the same?
I bought a 61 Unibody with no engine but it has a set of bolt in motor mounts.
The previous owner did not know if it had a 289 or a 302. I need to know what type of engine to look for. Thanks.

All three engines use the same frame, the 289 and 302 are the same size while the 351 is wider on top (heads farther out and intake is wider) but mounts the same. 61's never had any of those engines though. Sounds like the previous owner put them in?? Good luck!

Better make sure that PO had a clue what he was talking about. The truck may have had an original engine removed and if that is the case none of the post 1965 engines will bolt up. You will have to drop in a 312 or a 6 cyl. You say it had "bolt in" motor mounts. Is that an indication that a later engine swap has already been done? I don't know myself.
