We had Dish Notwork installed in our new home back in Feb. The service works but the installation was poor. The installer chose to route the coax through our vents for the crawl space rather than running through the block. In the process he had to cut a hole in the screen of the vent. We live in the woods and I don't want holes in my house for the critters to get in. We have called the local office and they offered to give us a $50 credit on our bill, but that has yet to happen.
I would like to have a blockmason replace the vent, and have the Dish people reimburse me for the expense.
Anyone know who to contact or how to get in touch with the right people? The regular number we call is always at least a two hour wait.
Thanks,
Dan
This is why I try to show a customer exactly what I'm about to do before I do it. I've seen stuff like that out there, and wouldn't want it done to my house.
The best way to go is to get with the dishnet reps and tell them you want it repaired - period. Otherwise you might end up out the money for the repair, and a billing hassle on your hands. Much better to have it paid for on the front end.
And no - I wouldn't accept a credit to the account.
Repair it before the critters get in. Deduct the cost from your bill. If that does not work call another satellite company and have their system properly installed. See if they will give you a credit for the dish network equipment to recover the cost of repairs.
Call the better business bureau and report the dish network. They are worthless and won't do anything but the complaint goes on record.
If you have made payments by credit card have them stopped or refuse to pay them. Get another CC account if necessary and pay the original card only the amount you owe and close it.
I would recommend against sacrificing your (hopefully) good credit rating to spite a large company. Do they have a local office? You might have to get a little resourceful on this.
Put a note in your credit report if necessary stating the damage to property. I had to do something similar once and it did not hurt my credit rating at all.
Their agreement is of course entirely one sided as usual. Talk to a Lawyer if you want to know what they can actually do to you if you violate it.
