My intermittent wipers recently went on the blitz. They used to work most of the time, and then never (except for full speed non-intermittent) I replaced the switch in the dash and it solved the problem for a while, but now I only get full speed wipers again. Any suggestions on where I could start to track down the problem.
My intermittent wipers too are acting up. My hi and low speed work fine, but the delay is a little too delayed. On the fastest delay setting there is a 7 second delay. On the slowest its 30 seconds. That is of course way too slow. I havent done anything about it because it hasnt been that much of an inconvience, but I suspect that the culprit is the wipers electronic control box which is located behind the glove box. Just food for thought.
I had the same problem as you i found the fix on this sight
the problem was in the contacts on the speed controle
on the turn signel.
it took 10 min to fix and no parts!
frist remove the end cap on the speed controle with a small flat head screw driver.
then remove the screw that holds the speed controle knobe
on the turn signel being careful as it is spring loded.
clean the grease out of the contact area regrease with
points grease reasemble and your done.
hope this helps

I just did the swap to intermittent wipers on my 88. The control box for yours & mine is mounted down inside the dash, on the left hand side. If you look when you take the panel off (like when you take out the switch), look down inside there with a light, and you'll see this silver & black box. That is the control center for the intermittent wipers. Other than that, I really can't tell you anything about them.
