Hi Everyone....
My '04 was very sightly crunched in the front end on the way to work one day. Some fool ran a red light at about 60, swerved to miss me as I entered the intersection, but still clipped the front bumper of my brand new baby...1,600 miles on the clock!!! Long story short, this truck is one solid piece of work.
The fool was driving a late 80's Suburban 2x2. His right passenger door first struck the left tow hook of my truck, and then the center of my bumper. My truck just shuddered a bit, but his truck did a full 360 in the intersection, and spun to a stop about 500' past the POI. I'm sure his shorts were very full, as he did not get out of his POS for several minutes....
The damage done to my baby was relatively minor....very high in cost, but still minor! The front frame tubes in front of the radiator support were tweaked a bit to the right from the impact, and slightly down. needed a new bumper and grill assembly, and to be safe, they changed the power steering cooler, the trans cooler, and the A/C condenser, all which received very minor fin dents.
Now, the good part....the fool's truck was totalled....it destroyed the entire right side of his truck. From the passenger door all the way back to the rear quarter panel was ripped open like a cheap can of sardines....No one was injured...I was just very, very mad....
I just thought it was worth posting to remind everyone....when the topic comes down to which maker builds a real truck, and which one puts truck bodies on 'car' frames....
If anyone is interested, I have some photos showing the damage.
Take care all,
and always look to the left first... I did, but it still didn't help!!!!!!

Bought one of daughters an '05 Escape in December...This A.M. she was re-ended by an '03 Tahoe...Scratches on rear bumper and maybe a slight shift in bumper location. The Tahoe front end is wasted!
At first blush she is OK but, she is 6 months pregnant so going to the baby doctor just to make sure that my grandson is OK, too.
