Newspaper on windows...

I heard that if you use newspaper to wash your windows... it won't leave any streaks. Does anyone else know anything about this.

It is all I have ever used..Old detail shop trick..Just spray glass with cleaner and ball up a sheet of newsprint and use it as a rag..Streak free and quickly cuts through smoke film.. Works great

Thumbs up

I use newspaper to clean the windows, no lint. I also use newspaper to remove rain-X, which I use monthly. Works great.

Well, I guess I will start to use newspaper to wash my windows. I don't like the lint that paper towels and rags leave behind.

P.S. What does Rain-X do?

Use the pages with the Black print only. Pages with color does not seem to do as good of a job.

Rain-X makes the water roll off the windiws so you don't have to use wipers as much.

Prisoners use newspaper for car washes and I learned from them , although I am only a screw. Works like a charm.

Most newspapers will sell blank paper to the public (great for moving). It will keep the ink off of your hands.

I think the reason newspaper was good at cleaning windows is because the ink used to contain graphite. It was the ink that acted like a polish not so much the paper.
But now the ink doesn't use graphite.

i found newspaper works great also for keeping frost and ice of your windsheild. i used to work nights durring the winter so before i went in i put newspaper on the outside of the windsheld held down by the wipers. the frost and ice sticks to the paper instead of the glass so just take off the paper and the ice comes off too. i guess not very practial now that we are in june, but keep that in mind next winter.
