I asked this question in another thread and didnt get much response so I thought starting my own would get better results
It seems as though there are enough people with vibration problems that this is a design flaw on Ford's end, not sloppy manufacturing. What I dont get though is if it is a design flaw why would one truck have this problem and then another truck exactly the same wouldnt. I dont understand this, anybody have any ideas? Thanks

I do not think there are enough people to substantiate the design flaw theory. This forum is not an accurate cross section of all F150s sold. Many people find this site because they have an issue with their vehicle, and are looking for tips/advice. I just fixed a bothersome vibration on my truck. What did it stem from? Crappy tires. Ford is now putting P rated tires on their trucks, to up their EPA numbers. They allow much more road noise and forces back into the truck. I now have some LT rated tires, and this thing rides like glass. I am not saying that some people do not have legitimate problems. All manufacturers have problems, and the first production year is when they normally show. This is not the first time Ford has had such issues. They have had vibration issues many years ago, and it was finally determined to be improperly balanced drive shafts. I think this topic has been covered before, but I cannot remember which thread it was in. If you snoop around with the search function, you might be able to find which I am referring to.
I think ther are several things going on regarding the many vibration "problems" outlined on the various forums. Ford caused part of the problem with their advertising. Their advertising promised a Town Car ride and noise level in a truck and people are expecting that when they get their truck. Any slight noise or vibration drives them back to the dealer even though the noise or vibration would have been ignored in another truck. Even though some people have had problems, we don't know how many of the problems on the forums are truly legitimate. It could easily be people just stirring the pot for amusement and they may or may not even have a truck. As I go from forum to forum, I find many very similar posts that appear to have been written by the same people under different names. If you go by the multiple problems some of the posters complain of, I would not be able to get into my dealer's service department due to the hugh number of pickups having problems but I find very few in my dealer's service department and most of the problems they work on are rear end related (clutch packs). I find the forums very useful when I do have a problem or concern but the rest, I feel they are worth exactly what I pay for them ($ .00).
Good Lord Mr. Ford:
osbornk: Your defense of the Ford Flag is admirable and to be celebrated. These forums that list problems or suspicions have helped alot. I think if what you say about multiple names same message is for real that negates any good info because after all this is about us. The buyers response to what is happening to our trucks as best we can describe and hope for solutions or suggestions from the "forum"
Man, I wish that your summation of the problems could be dismissed as you have solved them with the Quote: "It could easily be people just stirring the pot for amusement" .
When and if I finally have my truck where I can go 4 weeks without replacing or having something fail I will consider it cured. Proof of Ownership you bet I will provide. As for the very few having problems short of you coming to town and talking to the mechanics to hear in their own words, talk about the same problems over and over in the 04's. This is not bashing this is total disappointment in my choice of truck, I did not recieve what was advertised instead a truck that needed more time in the test bay before releasing it on the unsuspecting buying public. A bit of research might help shed some light on the inherent problems related to 04's Check with your parts service guys and ask how many change ups, of components for the 04's and how many components are not interchangeable between 04 - 05. Might be interesting the # is not high but the list is interesting as it deals major components.
