we went on a land judging trip the other day, and we had 9 people in our ag truck (its an 05 350 cc psd) and there were also about 10 other school at the mcdonalds we were at (there was a line about halfway around the outside of the store) so we just went through the drive through. with 9 people! i guess we were the only smart ones.

woogs- it really is, although it's soon to change to Damascus, which recently incorporated and will probably annex Boring. Just a story of outlying communities trying to keep beyond the long arm of the City.

re: Texas. I like Texas, but the climates waaay to hot for me. Blood thickened up decades ago, can't handle the heat very well.

re: drivethru- when commercial land gets sold by the sq ft instead of the acre, those driveways get pretty tight. Then there are city planners that really believe you should be driving a Civic in the first place, so driveways, parking spaces, and drive-thrus get sized accordingly. In my own driveway, the bumper of the SC hangs out into the sidewalk...by a couple of feet.

It's common courtesy to TURN off your diesel engine at a drive thru. If you come thrhough mine with then engine running don't bitch when your order's wrong.

Mine's not one of the new quiet diesels, and it's straight-piped, so leaving it on isn't really an option if I actually want to be heard! As far as fit, it gets a little tight but I can usually make it. What really burns me up is the parking lots at A&M. I've had several near misses and one "incident" when some knothead in a little Japanese car can't center their crackerbox between the lines so they end up about 3" away from me. And forget about parking in the garages there...my CCLB can't even make the turn into the entrance without taking out the gates, and I'd have to take my CB antenna off or lose it. Glad my tuition money was used so wisely!

Awesome, I'm in meat judging and it has to be one of the most fun things I've done in ag so far. We're always in the meat locker longer than the other competitions so we dont usually hit the usual restaurant rushes after everyone finishes.

been there, done that in A&M parking lots...the drive thoughs there aren't too bad. only thing there i look out for is parking tickets on campus...but since i don't go there anymore i just toss them. i haven't seen the heights of everything around there though recently....drive though or garage...with my stacks the truck is 6'6''...we shall see, gonna be up there in a couple weeks for my 21st as for the drive though with my truck on, it all depends on how i'm feelin that day and if the erson taking my order behaves themselves. now, if they don't treat me like i pay thier wage, i give them my driver side stack...

With both of our open intake straight piped Diesels there is two options at the drive thru. Option one is shut off the engine. Option two is just yell real loud "surprise me" and then drive up to the window where you pay. If you try and order with the engine running there is no telling what your order will be so you might as well just plan on a surprise instead of wasting time trying to order. I always use option one myself.

we usually miss the restaurant rushes by going back to the sites and then our ag teacher judges the land to show us where we messed up at and we get soil samples to practice with. but we still don't miss the rushes completely. i had to wait 5 MINUTES to get a refill the other day at pizza hut. i bet they didn't have 4 employees there. they needed to hire more people.

I love going to my bank drive up window with someone next to you and they are trying to talk to the teller and all you hear is that person yelling WHAT? WHAT? all they do is yell louder and louder. I just sit there and laugh my butt off.

I did some land judging and some meat judging, as well as range and ag mechanics when I was in FFA. It was pretty enjoyable for me. I got a chance to miss school and have fun with my friends. How can you beat that! I did pretty well in range and better than I expected in meats and ag mech. I only did land judging one year.

Anyway, I drove though a drive through with my Dodge for the first time the other day. I did not shut it off, but I did have to shout to get my order. I usually walk into the counter, so it doesn't make much difference to me.
