Speedo jumping and surging engine

Speedo jumping and surging engine
I have 12000 miles an an 05 6.0 auto and have had no problems with surging
but today my brother has my truck on the road pulling a 20' enclosed car hauler empty and has had the speedometer start jumping around and shortly after that the truck started surging. I had him shut the truck down and start it up and it has stoped for the time being. Just wondering if anybody has had the same combo as it seems the exauhst back presuer sensor would be suspect for the surge but not the speedo and surge at the same time.

Not sure about your problem directly, but as a comparison my Civic's speedo went whacko one day. The CEL came on and eventually it ran rough. Turned out a wire or wires were shorting out on the manifold. So based on that I'm guessing a wire chafing problem.
