86 300 6, no start
I have a problem, My truck was running rough, so I decided to change out the distributor, I made my marks on the case, then removed the old one, and put in the new one without a hitch. Then tried starting, no spark!! Hmmm, maybe a bad distributor, put old one back on, still no spark. Swapped new icm, still nothing, tried new coil,nothing, I am at a loss, any ideas?

First, does your engine have the TFI ingnition (dist. mounted module) or the DuraSpark ignition (fender mounted modle) ? In the meantime, check the coil wire for an open circuit, also, check that the wires within the various connectors that you recently unplugged/plugged did not "back out" of there socket causing a no contact condition with mating terminal. This is especially important at the coil connector which is prone to such " back out of connector" problem. Simply push the wires forward into the socket cavity to assure that the male/female contacts are fully mated.
