Serpentine Belt
Even though my old belt showed very little wear, I figured, if I changed my serpentine belt, I could maybe get rid of the cricket noise, and have an extra for emergencies, and so I did.
Right size, same # grooves, threaded as per diagram, and it started and worked nicely.
I noticed some smell coming from the belt, and it looked like there was a very slight smoke, almost invisible coming from the belt by the compressor pulley. I figured it was just the new belt breaking in.
My truck will not start now, changed back the old belt and still no joy. It turns over ok but won't fire.
Can't figure what could have happened.
And thoughts?
