I a 65 f-100 with a 390 from a car. I want to put power Steering on. I need a list of parts that I need to buy or go looking for a the junk yard. I have searched the posts but just get more lost in what I need to be looking for. What is the best year to look for and a list of parts and part number if possible. Thanks again for any help give. Recently completed p/s upgrade on 65 w/ 302. Found a 76 donor truck with same engine and took everything remotely connected to power steering application. Fortunately floor shift so column was not an issue. You did not mention year of the 390 engine. In process of p/s upgrade on my other 65 w/ 390. The engine came out of a 65 Thunderbird and finding it difficult locating the 2 sheave pulley that mounts to the crankshaft. Appears the engine part interchange is somewhat limited for the early model 390's 65-67/68, than later model 390's. Perhaps more knowledgeable member can advise. Just thought would mention in event your current application is not setup for power steering. If not and come across the pulley, may want to take the harmonic balancer. I found the 3 bolt pattern on my 65 crank is narrower than the 3 bolt pattern on later model 390 2 sheve crank pulleys. Not sure if can go with the later model harmonic ballancer with early model 390 engine. Have to do somemore research before my next salvage run. Also, if article does not mention, want to remove the driver's side engine perch from the donor truck. Hope this thread is not too confusing.
