Power Door Lock Switch not working Adding Keyless NEED HELP
I am new and have been searching the forums...but it is 3a.m. and my eyes are not working right...LOL Door locks/unlocks on both sides with key and manually, but not pressing switch. I changed the fuse...still nothing. I checked wiring and still nothing. I bought the following link.
Hello & Welcome to FTE The best truck show on the net!
Take the switch pad out at the drivers door. You should have a constant hot wire to run the locks at the switch. Finding it and finding it hot there is the first step. I found one of the wire connectors broken and the passenger side not working. I repaired it and got both sides working again. If neither of yours is working, my guess there is no power there.
I doubt that you need to change the actuators. The kit that you refer to appears to be for a non electrical lock system. I would suggest that if it will run theirs it will run your present ones.
THanks JOWILKER! I appreciate the welcome. I have the Haynes manual that shows the colors for the wires and to what they go to. If I am having both sides not working at the switches, would there be a problem on both switch pads? Or is there like possibly a common that would stop both from working? rheeric@msn.com Thanks so far!
I have checked everything from switches to power and all power works out. I attached two universal actuators and they work so my actuator is the problem but now my problem is these universal ones do not mount.
I added the keyless entry and it is programmed and ready to go, just got to do get real FORD actuators and not these universal ones that do not connect to anything. Guess they are made more for cars WITHOUT power windows, because i received a video .zip file and it shows it so easy...but in this truck it is not.
