There happens to be one availalbe at the local salvage yard here.. Other than that, I would look into the Paxton SC website or various SC/turbo vendors.
I would say you need to built a manifold set up for it. I was going to mock this up last winter(never got to it). Make a set of headers, upside and mount small turbos on each side, plumbed to carb box (from Paxton). Plenty of ideas.....................
I just recieved my turbo for my 390. I used AUTOCAD to design all of the plumbing and headers. This along with the 150 shot of nitrous (already on the engine) should throw this long bed 65 truck down the 1/4 somewhere in the 12's. I will start taking pics as It starts coming together.
Yeah Larry I have AutoCad 2000 here at the house also...I just asked the Oldest daughter where it was..(the CD) I had it in the Confuser..but when I put in the new hard drive..I lost it, and havent reinstalled it..
yep, ya need the lower compression ratio. I actually considered doing the turbo thing on my engine. There's a couple of guys at work that specialize in the turbo department. They don't have to be mounted up close to the engine to work well these days. One guy has one after his exhaust comes together up under the car...it's crazy but there really is just about no lag...I don't understand how it works so well. At any rate, the entry cost ran me off. If you want to see an unbelievable application of a turbo, check out the hayabusa videos off yahoo...comes off the wheelie at 140...top speed 258 mph!!
theres nothin like hearin a big hair dryer spool up and feel the boost start to pull. i just wish it was in my 69 ferd and not my subaru wrx (sorry guys, ill have to admit i like it!)
