It's aways Something
Don't get me wrong, I really love my truck. But I mean it is just one thing after an other with this truck. I bought it used at Thanksgiving. First it was burning a ton of oil, thanks to this forum I learned that the PCV valve was the issue not worn valve guides. Next it was a mass air flow code (Check Engine Light) because I did not get the gas cap tight. I actually had to spend money to finally get that code cleared. Next was an idle problem, that was caused by the bullet shaped end of the airfilter falling off and rocking back and forth in the air stream. I scratched my head on that one for a while. Latest item was the windshield wipers going on when every they felt like it, that required an $80 multi-function switch (it was easy to replace...about 60 minutes). On top of all this has been the Ford dealer disconnecting my cruse, $550 for new tires (Toyo's) and $2.50 per gallon for gas. I feel better now, thanks for letting me vent.
-Do a head job because of the spark plug launching issue.
-Replace COPS
-Change a torque converter because of shudder
-Spend $80 on parts because ford mounts their air compressor with really, really wimpy mounts that you can't buy individually, and must buy their improved mount.
-Anything else?
You are doing pretty good, and any used vehicle will have issues that need to be worked out. Yours are not too bad, and you can't put the tires in there, any vehicle needs those regularly. Remember to keep them inflated and check the front end alignment...
