I have a 1978 F350 with dual rear wheels. The eight 7/16 bolts that hold the axle in will not stay tight, even with loctite and new hardened bolts. The threads are worn out,and I have tried to find a new hub or a used one,but no luck in my area.Anyone have any ideas for repair or replacement?

I am going to try a bottoming tap,new studs, and either loctite or jb weld.there apears to be room for about a 2 inch long stud and the bolts that were in there were only 1.5 inches long.Any other ideas?
New studs sounds like the smartest way to go...its almost garunteed to cure your problem.
My dads Chevy 3500 duel rear wheel studs where coming loose just last week....all of them but 2 FELL OFF!(45mph) rounded the rims out, studs where ok but its not worth having them fall off again and with atleast 2 tons of tools in the toolboxs it will ruin your day.
Check your rear end housing for straight. The only thing I have ever seen that broke or loosened the axle studs or bolts is a bent housing. The easiest way to check it is pull both axles and look through the housing. If it is bent it should be fairly obvious.
