My front rotor is kind of dinged up & I want to replace it. What's involved? Do I just pull off the wheel & caliper & start yanking, or do I need to remove the grease cap, castle nut, bearings, etc.?
Thanks.
yup, caliper, grease cap, cotter pin, castle nut, bearing-- now rotor off. If you are changing the rotor you may want to put your bearing races in the new one. If it is apart this far it is a good time to repack bearings and change grease seal on the spindle side. Be sure to preload bearings.....better yet buy a Haynes and or Chiltons repair manual. and be sure I didn't miss anything!
