Hey guys, I was wondering, what is the exact procedure to turn up the fuel on an IDI diesel, and I was wondering what are safe limits to follow, or is there any way to know when it is turned up to the best level? Thanks everyone.
Thanks a bunch PLC7.3. I already have a pyro, because I have an ATS turbo on it, but I will be sure to watch the pyro when I turn it up. Does turning it up affect fuel mileage at all? Thanks.
From what I have heard the extra power is addictive and the pedal is used to satisfy the lust for quick takeoffs and whumping Powderstrokes of the line.......yes it can make a difference in the fuel mileage.............depends on how you drive it.
Ok, thanks for the info. I will be sure to try to keep my foot out of it as much as possible, especially with fuel prices being what they are. Thanks a ton.
Just one question I'm not clear on what year would the IDI be your doing the fuel change on....as there is an external fuel screw on some model IPs and there are specific instructions from ATS I believe to adjust it too....... then lookout.
Look at your IP then look at the picture in the link, if you look just above the second line attachment knipple fronm the left (the one with a shine to it) you can faintly see a screw. This screw can be adjusted, it does have a locknut, so releasing the nut and adjusting the screw can improve the performance. ATS has directions for the adjustment included in their installation maybe you could find it on their web page ??NOT...If someone has the adjustment info they could post it.......
