Brakes!

Ok so ever since I put the rear discs on my dana 60 I havent liked my brakes. Actually the truck did stop real good but it just had a soft pedal, sort of fixed it with my adj. prop. valve. Oh yeah the truck is a '79 F250 with a dana 60 front. Any way, so Im driving along and all of a sudden I go to hit the brakes and they are harder than normal... I was thinking i wish the pedal had this feel all the time...the only thing was it got too damn hard and then i realized that I didnt have any rear brakes!!. When I press the pedal hard the brake light comes on. It does this all the time now and sometime if i hit the pedal lightly real fast a couple times the rear and fronts will work together. But its getting harder to do that and I mostly just have front brakes now. Do you guys think that it is the stock prop. valve? I was wondering if I could do away with the stock proportioning valve and run straight pressure from the master the the front/rear, and adjust with the adj. prop. valve. And oh yeah get a bigger master cylinder from an early 70's camper special..What do you all think?

rear disc

If you put rear disc brakes on, I assume that you got a prop. valve for 4-wheel disc.
If you did this then you DON'T want the stock prop. valve. It wont allow enough pressure to go to the rear because the drum brakes use less pressure. You need to remove the stock prop. valve, If you want to retain your brake warning light, you can "gut" the valves out of the stock prop. valve, leaving the pressure warning switch.
