Watching a 4bbl manifold on ebay with that part number.......
will a MODERN 4bbl carb bolt up to it, like an edelbrock 1404 (500cfm manual choke)?
if that manifold will work, sweet, if not, exactly what will fit it, this thing is an hour from my house, so it wouldnt have to be shipped

That is a 54 Merc intake for the 256 and has slightly different port alignment for the 54 only heads. It takes the Holley teapot 4bbl and can also use the Carter WCFB and small base Rochester 4G with some caveats about providing vacuum to the distributor.
The ECZ 9425-A is the 55-6 version of the EBY for the bigger port heads. A modern Holley/Edelbrock will fit with an adaptor but the flow wont be as good as a 57 and later ECZ 9425-B. On a truck I doubt if you would notice it.
