I have cruise control!
Now then, and I hesitate to post this. Before I do, I will say that I am not affiliated with Ford in any way and my following statement is nothing more than hearsay.
Apparently, the leaky switches are allowing brake fluid to escape (we knew this) but in the ‘seriously affected’ situations that brake fluid is accumulating in the cruise control servo (with this much fluid a fire is more probable) via the wiring harness. Now the bad news is that it is not only the 2K models that utilize this specific switch. I understand that Ford is quietly reviewing model years through 2K2.
Now I’m not saying run on down to your local dealership and demand a new switch, but I would suggest that those of you who are capable, inspect for leakage and if any is present, D/C the harness and tape up the ends.
Hopefully Homer or another *certified* tech can cross the part numbers for us and perhaps give us more insight into which models and years may be affected.

I like being right (who doesn’t) but I’m always willing to admit I was wrong. What did I miss here that required the response “This is not accurate”? I am only pointing out that the same part number that is part of a replacement campaign is also perhaps in your vehicle which is not part of a campaign.
Semantics, I suppose I could have been more specific....long day hanging drywall, tired, terse, brevity, sorry for coming across in an unfavorable manner.
