Talking Back to Ford for a fix

Well, I've got 13,600+ miles on it & had to take it in for the first fix. We tow a 35 foot 5th wheel weighing in at 12,000 + the trk weighs 8,000 for a total 20,000 Lbs. On our last 1,500 mile trip(total miles towed about 5,000 to date) the top Turbo Charge Air Cooler Duct(the Blue one) started to spit oil when the Turbo spools up. Also there was a slight oil deposit on the bottom of the trans (not Trans oil). They had it for a day & a half. They replaced the BlueTurbo Air Duct with an Aluminum Duct tube. They added Black Light Dye to verfiy the leaks & for the oil deposit & they pulled the trans & replaced the Rear Main Seal.

I hear a lot of negative comments about the SD 6.0's but I'll tell you I've never had anything run or pull like this does. I'd take another one in a heartbeat!!

Glad you have patience. I like my 6.0 too. I think with any truck it will have to wrenched on. My Ford hasn't been in the shop yet. But my old Chevy at the same mileage was at visit #3.

Be glad you don't have the 2004 F150. In 10 months, it was back to the dealer 8 times for different problems. Got rid of it last week and my new F250 PSD is going in tomorrow for the Snap Ring recall. Hopefully this will be the last visit for awhile.
