A 4x4 shop around here quote me $369 for the superlift 2wd leveling kit. Plus shocks.
Does that sound as steep to you as it does to me for a pair of springs and some alignment cams? If I go to a spring shop and get some slightly longer springs made (+1" from factory height) can I get away with using the factory cams? Or what about using a set of F-250 coils instead?
Ballpark (where I'm at) $100 for heavier MOOG springs,$50 for camber sleeves,$60 labor to install springs,$65 for installation of inserts and alignment. The factory camber sleeves are non-adjustable,the after market one's are,so it's kinda a one shot deal.Once there in you will have future adjustment if needed.Labor for shocks should be included with the spring install since they are half way out anyway.
Ok. I plan on doing the work myself (it's cake) so we can scratch all the labor charges. So the factory sleeves in a 2wd are non-adjustable? Hmm.. that's different than the 4x4's. I didn't know that. I plan on getting a lifetime alignment at Firestone anyway, so that's a moot point. I know it will need alignments from now until the end of eternity anyway.
Any parts store should able to get them for you.CC-844 will give you between 2 1/2-3'',CC-822 or 824 should give 2'' without beatin' you to death. But those #'s will vary some depending on how worn your current springs are.The factory camber/caster sleeves have a "boss" made into them that lines up with the "pinch bolt" in the axle which prevents them from being adjusted. The 844's are for a F-350 diesel with A/C,the #'s go down from there as far as application,if that helps you.The price on the springs will vary (I think) as to location.Retail where I'm at is like $120,cost is like $80 a pair.
