My truck has a bent fork in the tranny and I wanted to get some sugestions what to do. I dont know if I should rebuild the tranny or swap it.
I also wondering if I can swap my mazda unit with the mitsubishi unit.
I have a 97 Ranger 4.0 with the M4OD.
How much does that usally run. I dont want to touch it neither my friend who is a mechanic at the Ford dealer.
Well, no idea to do your exact repair but to R&R the tranny and clutch in eastern WA state runs about $300 on a 4X4. I'd guess (keyword = guess) maybe another $75 in labor (one hour?) plus the part cost to do the actual tranny work. But then again, if there's more damage up goes the cost. Then again, I bet if it's just the fork and if you do the labor it would be under $125 (guessing parts cost; fork, top cover seal, tranny fluid).
