Question Which harness is this and how do I replace?

Helo everyone, I've been on here for awhile with my issues about my '76 f-250 390 quitting while drivng and I'm just looking at some of the basic wiring now. There is a harness that connects to the distributor harness and it travels back towards the coil and on the truck, this wiring is covered in electrical tape. OH OH!!! I'm going to take it apart and see if there are any issues in this mess of wiring, but there is an obvious issue at the connector of the wiring that connects TO the distributor connector. One of the wires that goes into this connector on the coil side is completely stripped of insulation and it's exposed. I'm wanting to replace this so that I can make sure that isn't affecting anything at all. What is this length of wire with this connector on the end called? Where does it truly go? I believe it may go to the ignition box on the fender? Can I just buy this stretch of wiring to replace my existing wiring? Any help would be great.

Nate

See if this diagram and the colors jive with what you have on your truck. This harness is pretty much standard on all duraspark II vehicles, so if you need any parts, look at any Ford car or truck from the late 70's through the early 80's.

Make sure though, that you always work with a system that has blue plastic on the module where the wires go in. The plastic color is the type of module in the system, and the best one to stick with is blue.
