Suspension Installation Prices

I was wondering for any of you here that had their suspension isntalled how much did the labor run you? I have been told by friends it will be in the 500- 600 dollar range around here, in Maryland. I would do it myself but am afraid I am to much or a beginner and lack some tools to do it. Thanks, John

Wow that is a lot of money. I could do it at my house maybe, I have a loose gravel driveway so I wouldn't trust holding it up with jack stands. I was hoping to get it installed by a shop but man thats some serious money you could spend on other things.

I too am in MD.The average labor rate is $72.00 an hour (independent shop) and $89-94 (dealer/specialty shop). Some shops go by the "book",for R&I,which is fair to everyone involved. But some places will just charge a "flat rate" for the job.I would normally charge $300-500 for a suspension lift, alignment included. But that would depend on the truck and the kit.TTB's are on the high end.

Yeah, do you all think a person with basic mechanical skills could install a lift like this? I mean I have buds that have some pretty nice shops with air tools and all sorts of goodies to use. Or would you recommend professional installtion? Thanks, John

they arn't bad to install at all... as heavy as some of the parts on these trucks are sometimes a friend is really helpful. Air tools help A LOT, but arn't a must. Expect to take much longer without them. As long as you have some nice jack stands(big) and some decent tools you can do it no problem. Give yourself a weekend or so.. take your time so you do it right, no reason to rush. I broke my install into two afternoons, the rear one day, the front the next. That was a nice break in between.. I also would recommend to do the rear first as it is easier and will help you get a feel for it.

good luck.. and save yourself those 600 bones!
