Vibration
I know this isnt diesel specific, but you guys are a great group, so why go in another forum. Last week I pulled a trailer to Ohio (about 200 miles 1 way) and hauled about 7,000 lbs. The area i was in had alot of stop signs and turns, etc. Typical county ohio road. When starting out from a stop sign, after about 200 miles, I could feel a vibration in the driveline much like a limited slip chatter(i have an open rear), but it did it straight and turning. I didnt have any vibration once getting up to speed. Now if i give her hard throttle from a start, it starts vibrating too, with no load. Ive done all u-joints, and the carrier wasnt bad last week when i serviced the trunk. I changed the rear end oil, and the wear pattern on the gears didnt look bad. 200,000 crew cab dually 1992.

Couple things will cause vibrations, pinion angle or as stated a dry slip joint on the driveshaft. When you did the universals did you relieve the pressures on the cups and Ujoint assy, this is rare but can cause vibration.
